megatech Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 15, 2026

This policy explains what personal data Section 9 Technologies LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("megatech", "we", "us"), collects through megatech.systems and the megatech service, why, who we share it with, and what you can do about it. It covers:

  • customers: people who sign in, buy or manage a relay;
  • website visitors: people who read the site, fill in the request form or book a call.

It doesn't cover what's posted inside a customer's relay. That content belongs to the customer, and the customer decides who sees it. Section 3 explains what we can technically see there.

1. What we collect

When you create an account and buy a relay

  • Your email address, and whether it has been verified.
  • How you signed in (email code or Google) and a sign-in session ID, from our sign-in provider. If you use Google, Google tells our sign-in provider your email address. We don't get your Google password.
  • Your order: the relay name you picked, the region, the plan, the order status and its history.
  • Your agreement to our terms: which versions of the Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy you agreed to at checkout, and when. We keep this as proof that you agreed.
  • Public keys: the owner public key you give at checkout, if any, and public keys of members linked to emails. Public keys are public by design. We never ask for or store your private key.
  • Billing references from Stripe: customer, subscription, invoice and payment IDs, the amount, currency and subscription status, plus the event details Stripe sends us. Those can include your name, billing address and country.
  • Invite links we make for you. They work like a password until they expire, so we delete the link itself once it has expired.
  • Emails we send you (for example the welcome email) and whether they were delivered.

What Stripe collects

You pay on Stripe's own checkout page. Stripe collects your card details. We never see or store your full card number. We can see what Stripe shows its merchants, such as the card brand, its last four digits and its expiry date. Stripe's own privacy policy covers what it does.

When you use the website

  • The request form on the home page: your email, name, company, and anything you type or choose (your role, what you want to do, your notes, your answers to our question). We also record the country your connection comes from and your browser's user-agent string. We also save the random visit ID from section 7 with your entry, so we can see which steps that visit took.
  • Booking a call: if you use our booking widget, our scheduling tool collects what you enter there under its own policy.
  • Abuse protection: to stop automated abuse, we count requests per network address. We store only a scrambled (keyed hash) form of your IP address, never the address itself. A bot check may also confirm that you're a person when you check a name or start checkout. The bot check is Cloudflare Turnstile, which can run in the background without showing you anything. Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum explains what it collects.
  • Usage analytics: see section 7.

Logs

We and our providers keep technical logs, which can include IP addresses, for a limited time to run and secure the service.

2. What we don't collect

  • Your private keys, seed phrases or passwords. Nobody at megatech will ask for them.
  • Your full card number. Stripe has it, we don't.
  • Anything on the devices or agents you run yourself.
  • What your AI agents send to AI model providers. That's between you and them.

3. Content inside your relay

Your relay stores your community's messages, files, members and history so it can deliver them. That content is yours, and we act only as your host for it.

To be straight about it:

  • A Buzz relay is not end-to-end encrypted, and we don't claim it is. The connection between your apps and the relay is encrypted in transit. It passes through our network provider on the way, which handles the encrypted connection.
  • Our systems have administrator access to your relay's server, and backups hold a full copy of its data. So in principle we can read it.
  • We don't sell it, mine it, profile it or use it to train AI.

4. Why we use your data, and our legal bases

We don't sell your personal data, share it for advertising, or use it to make automated decisions that have legal or similar effects on you.

AI tools. We use AI-assisted tools to help operate the service, including support, sorting requests, and maintenance tasks on relays such as restores and moves, under our supervision. AI providers process that data under their terms. We don't use your relay content to train AI models.

5. Who we share it with

We share personal data only with the kinds of providers below, and only what each needs for its job.

Request-form entries are shared internally with our team.

We may also share data:

  • if the law requires it, for example a valid court order;
  • to protect people's safety, or our rights;
  • with a buyer, if Section 9 or megatech is sold or reorganised. We'd tell you first.

6. Where your data is

  • Your relay runs on a server in the region you choose when you buy (at launch, the United States only). Relay backups are stored in the United States.
  • Our order database is in the United States.
  • Our main providers are US-based. Personal data may be accessed or processed in other countries where our team or providers operate.
  • Some of our providers run worldwide networks that handle traffic close to wherever you connect from.

If you're in the EU or UK, your data is transferred to the US and other countries. Where the law requires, we rely on our providers' standard data protection terms for those transfers.

7. Cookies and similar technology

We don't use advertising cookies or trackers.

  • Website analytics. We count steps through the home page (the page was shown, how far down it you scrolled and how long you stayed, the form was sent, the question was answered, a call was booked), tied to a random ID for that one visit. It runs in cookieless mode: nothing is saved in your browser, and the events don't include your email. It doesn't run on the checkout pages.
  • Page-view counts. Our hosting provider also counts page views on the website, such as which page was viewed and general details about the visit. It uses no cookies, saves nothing in your browser, and isn't used to identify you or follow you across other sites.
  • Checkout progress. While you're buying, the page keeps your choices (name, plan, key) in your browser's tab storage, so a reload doesn't lose them. It's deleted when you close the tab.
  • Sign-in. Our sign-in provider uses a session cookie or browser storage to keep you signed in.
  • Bot checks and the booking widget may set their own cookies or similar, under their providers' own policies, when they load.

8. How long we keep it

DataHow long
Your relay's content and backupswhile your relay is live. Nightly copies are kept about 7 days and weekly copies about 4 weeks. After your relay goes offline, its data, backups and keys are deleted after 7 days. Deletion is done with a manual check and may run a little later.
Billing, tax and accounting records (including the account and order records they rely on)as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Sign-in session recordskept with your account records (the row above).
Records of your agreement to our termskept with your account records.
Invite linksuntil they expire, after which the link itself is deleted.
Request-form entriesas long as we need them to follow up with you.
Repeat-request checka scrambled (hashed) form of your email, kept 30 days so we aren't alerted twice about the same person.
Database restore pointsour order database keeps 7 days of restore history, so a deleted record can survive there for up to 7 days.

Some of our records are kept in an append-only form, so that the history of an order can't be quietly changed. When we can't delete such a record before its time is up, we stop using it for anything except the purposes above.

9. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

  • see the personal data we hold about you, and get a copy;
  • correct it if it's wrong;
  • delete it, subject to what we have to keep (section 8);
  • stop using it for analytics or follow-up.

To ask, email the address at the end of this policy. We'll answer within 30 days. We may need to confirm it's you, usually by replying from the email on your account. We won't charge you, and we won't treat you differently for asking.

EU and UK. You also have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests, to restrict processing, and to data portability. You can complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO). We'd appreciate the chance to fix things first.

California. You have the right to know, delete and correct the personal information we hold, and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. We don't sell or share personal information as California law defines those words. The categories we collect are listed in section 1: identifiers, commercial information, internet activity, and professional information from the request form. We use them for the purposes in section 4 and disclose them only to the providers in section 5. An authorised agent may make a request for you.

Your relay's members: data inside a customer's relay is controlled by that customer, so please ask them first. We'll help them respond.

10. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your data, including:

  • encrypted connections;
  • each relay's backups kept in separate storage with their own access key;
  • payment details left with Stripe;
  • no passwords held by us;
  • limited access for people and tools.

But no system is completely secure, and we can't promise yours will never be breached. If we learn of a breach that affects your data, we'll tell you without undue delay, and as the law requires.

11. Children

megatech is for businesses and adults. It isn't meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect data from children. If you think a child has given us personal data, tell us and we'll delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If a change matters, we'll email customers before it takes effect and change the date at the top. Earlier versions are available on request.
